Guilds, industry associations & recognition
ARTSHOP is a member of the Picture Framers Guild of Australia, a not-for-profit trade organisation for the Australian picture framing industry. The Guild has a strong focus on Industry Standards which define appropriate levels of framing techniques and materials. ARTSHOP operates in keeping with these standards of practice and quality as we make it our mission to restore, present and preserve our clients’ artworks.
As members of the Australian Institute for the Conservation of Cultural Material (AICCM), we also follow the national professional guidelines that govern the preservation of artworks, artefacts and cultural heritage. This ensures our clients receive conservation framing and restoration work informed by the highest level of industry knowledge, ethical practice and up‑to‑date guidance on protecting treasured pieces.
ARTSHOP’s director Cherylyn Russell was awarded sixth place in the National Framing Competition in 1991 for her creative print framing of Gustav Klimt’s The Kiss. ARTSHOP went on to win first place in the National Framing Competition in 2005 for its similarly creative and hand‑finished print framing of a Stewart Westle landscape.
ARTSHOP was also the winner of the
Toowoomba Chamber Business Excellence Awards Retail & Wholesale category in 2011.
